Rice Terrace Steps

Have you ever wondered how you're supposed to climb from one rice terrace to the one above?

You just walk right up these steps.

The first time somebody said I had to go up these steps I thought they would fall out of the wall.

But then I realized that the steps have probably been embedded in that wall for at least a few decades without falling out.

You should see how fast the little kids run up these steps! You would think they're moutain goats

What do you think of these patterns?  The Bataad rice terraces are more than 2000 years old.

Every terrace was built by hand, maintained by hand, harvested by hand.

I planted rice one time.  It was the most backbreaking work I had ever done before.
