The Waterhouse Lady, my friend MJ and her family
Sometimes you run into people who affect you so much that you will never ever in 10000 years forget the experience.
One early morning while traveling with my team I was told that we were going to stop by a ladies home "on the water". Naturally, "On the water" means "big expensive home with servants and fine automobiles", to me. I was so surprised when I learned what "on the water" means in the Philippines. My friend MJ, her husband, son, sister and parents were living in a bamboo shack on stilts out over the ocean. There was human garbage and other things in the water just beneath all of the houses. It wasn't just one house on the water. It was an entire community who didn't have enough money for a house on land so they just put sticks in the mud and started building out into the sea. The result is an entire community neighborhood of houses built on stilts over the water. There is no bathroom or shower facility there. People just do what people do, on the water.
For many people this will be their life until they die. But for MJ and her family, this was only a transition. They used the power of network marketing to lift themselves out of the water and onto dry land, quite literally. I love MJ and her family. If you ever have a chance to travel with me, let's go meet MJ. She's a true winner :)
