Nobody understood what he sang

We had just finished eating lunch at a cafe on the road to Digos, Philippines.  I had the usual ice cream and rice and stuff, everybody else had squid or something.  I can't remember.  I was carsick even though we Doc Roy had been driving slow and careful.  As we went to the car this man walked up and started playing something and singing a simple song.  He smiled and made a bunch of sounds and said stuff but totally nobody had any idea what he was actually saying or singing about. But he sang on key! I got serenaded in a parking lot by an old man with perfect pitch.  What an experience!  We gave him some peso and continued driving to Digos.
