I had to be! I dreamed about it and I did it
I totally had to be that fat white guy dancing with all the cute girls doing the hula dancing totally out of step...why? Because I saw it in tv shows and other people's travel films and just knew that someday I was going to have the chance to be that fat white guy too.
There we were floating down the river on a Sunday afternoon and whaddya know! Up ahead there's a floating stage with music playing. The closer we got the more excited I got. It was going to happen! The riverboat was going to stop and let fat white guys make silly fools of themselves while the truly talented cute girls dance circles around him. And then it happened and I jumped off the boat and put my hips a shaking and my feet a quakin and the cameras went click click flash flash and I lived my dream!! I did it!! I was that fat white guy and I loved it.
I dreamed about doing this for at least 20 years. I could have gone to Hawaii and just signed up for a dance class or whatver but I wanted to live my dream in a faraway place where I was not expecting it to happen and wham! there it was!
You can live your dreams too! Dream a little dream, then dream a little more dream and a little more and soon those small dreams blossom into huge dreams and voila! You're living your dreams of your life right when you did not expect it.
I will never forget this day. Floating down the river with Raven, Joanna, Dario, Liezl, Ricky and Jhunday Delelis and the Philippines best tour guide, Miss Fabulous herself, Mikang. Be sure you look for her when you go to Bohol, Philippines...you will surely get the best connections!
When we arrived at the dock for the riverboat there were about 300 people in line ahead of us. I'm not exaggerating about that number. 300. I went and sat on a chair in the shade and Dario ran and got me an ice water and an ice cream cone...he really knows how hot I was that day. We waited for about 15 minutes and suddenly Mikang came back and told us to hurry up and get on-board the next boat. Somehow she got us pushed to the head of the line. It was amazed and quite humbled by her talent in achieving that over everybody else. As I walked through the line and bypassed everybody I felt very thankful that I didn't have to stand in that line for hours. I am sure the other people had been there for at least an hour before we arrived. I am thankful for people who make things happen in life.
